Detectives Investigating Armed Robbery at Larose Bar

Sheriff Craig Webre announced detectives are investigating an armed robbery which occurred Tuesday evening in Larose. At 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, November 3, deputies responded to an armed robbery at the bar room adjacent to the Go-Bears convenience store located at 12106 Highway 1 in Larose. Deputies learned two male subjects entered the bar and demanded money. One of the subjects was armed with a handgun and pointed it at the bartender. After obtaining cash from the bartender, the two immediately exited the bar and fled the scene. In addition to the bartender, there were several patrons present at the time of the robbery, but no one was injured.

The two male subjects are described as young black males in their 20s. One was reportedly armed with a silver revolver and is approximately 5’6” tall, medium build, with short hair, and he was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt . The second suspect was also of medium build and appeared to be slightly older, standing around 5’10” tall with dreadlocks and a small goatee. He was dressed in a gray sweatshirt and a fishing hat. Investigators believe the suspects were traveling in a silver car (unknown make and model).

UPDATE: Galliano Man Wanted for Aggravated Burglary Now In Custody

Sheriff Craig Webre announced Kim Wunstell Jr. (age 28) of Galliano who was wanted for Aggravated Burglary is now in custody after turning himself in Tuesday evening.

Through investigation, deputies learned that on October 14, 2015, Wunstell allegedly made forced entry into a residence on West 122nd Street in Galliano. Upon making entry, Wunstell allegedly stole several items including jewelry, a wallet, and several vials containing prescription medication. Deputies also learned Wunstell was allegedly armed with a knife during the incident. There were two people inside the residence during the burglary, but no one was harmed. Following the investigation, deputies obtained a warrant for Wunstell’s arrest for the charge of Aggravated Burglary.

Wunstell turned himself over to authorities at the South Lafourche Sub-station on Tuesday evening. He was booked on the active warrant, and his bond is set at $100,000 per the warrant.

Pregnant Woman Charged with Third DWI Offense

Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre announced the arrest of Angelle Andras (age 27) of Choctaw on Tuesday, November 3. At around 4:25 a.m. Tuesday morning, deputies were dispatched to a vehicle crash in the 2600 block of Choctaw Road in Choctaw. Through investigation at the scene, deputies learned a man crashed into a residential mailbox while trying to avoid a head-on crash with another vehicle which had entered his lane of travel. The driver of the other vehicle approached the man and identified herself as Angelle Andras. She was reportedly showing signs of intoxication at the time. Andras left the scene of the crash, however, after informing the man that she was pregnant and her water had just broken.

While deputies were investigating the crash, Andras returned to the scene. She admitted to leaving the scene of the crash and consuming alcoholic beverages prior to the crash, but she refused to submit to a field sobriety test. Deputies later conducted a breathalyzer test which determined Andras to have a blood alcohol content of .08g%. Deputies learned her license was currently suspended and that she had two previous DWI charges. Andras was arrested and booked into the Lafourche Parish Detention Center in Thibodaux on charges including DWI (3rd Offense), Interfering with a Law Enforcement Investigation, Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and driving under suspension. Her bond has not yet been set.
