Sheriff Craig Webre announced detectives are investigating a shooting that occurred in Raceland late Wednesday night. At around 11 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, investigators were called to Ochsner St. Anne General Hospital in Raceland after a man arrived with a gunshot wound to the leg. Through investigation, detectives learned the victim was traveling on Williams Street with another man, and at one point, the victim exited the vehicle and began speaking to an unknown male subject just outside another vehicle. At one point, the victim attempted to flee the scene on foot, but the unknown male subject pursued and fired multiple rounds at the victim. One of those rounds struck the victim in the leg. The gunman also fired a round into the victim’s vehicle before fleeing the scene in his own vehicle. The victim returned to the vehicle in which he was traveling, and the driver transported him to the hospital where he is currently in stable condition.
This case is currently under investigation.
