Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre reported the arrest of a Pointe-aux-Chenes man wanted for two attempted murders in Terrebonne Parish. Adam Naquin (W/M, D.O.B. 03/03/72) of 108 Dennis Street was arrested Tuesday afternoon after deputies located his vehicle at a Cut Off residence.
In a press release on Tuesday, the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office reported Naquin had been identified as the suspect in a shooting incident which occurred on Monday and was wanted for two counts of attempted second degree murder. Officials said a male victim suffered multiple gunshot wounds, and a female victim received multiple blows to the head from a blunt force object. Both were reportedly in stable condition and expected to recover. The incident reportedly occurred at Naquin’s residence in a garage area on the side of his home.
After receiving notification of Naquin’s warrants for attempted second degree murder, deputies with the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office were on the lookout for Naquin and discovered his vehicle located at a residence on East 43rd Street in Cut Off. Detectives and Agents with the Lafourche Parish Drug Task Force responded to the residence and formed a perimeter around the residence. A female resident at the residence exited, and detectives learned Naquin was, in fact, inside the home. Detectives called out to Naquin to exit the residence, and he complied, surrendering immediately to deputies on scene. Task Force Agents obtained consent to search Naquin’s room inside the residence and located a small amount of suspected methamphetamine and various drug paraphernalia.
Naquin was transported to the Lafourche Parish Detention Center where he was booked as a fugitive of Terrebonne Parish, and he was additionally booked with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He is being held in lieu of $5,500 bond as set by Judge Jerome Barbera III for the charges in Lafourche Parish, and he is also being held for Terrebonne Parish where his bond was set at $500,000.
